Welcome to Tasman Photography Portrait Information

All photographic work is done at a location of your choice where you or your children can easily and freely express yourselves makes for spontaneity and candid photos. It might be playing at the beach, stream or at your house. Props are not always needed during the photo shoot, but it's a good idea to have a favorite toy on hand just in case.

I won’t be pressuring you or your children into posing or smiling. My aim is to catch them being themselves and capture them being the person you know them to be. A photography session lasts between 1 to 3 hours depending on the overall package chosen. This can be a mixture of inside studio portraits (I carry a portable studio which is set up in your home) and natural outdoor photographs.

It may take a little time for your child to warm up to us, so don't get discouraged if your child seems unwilling to get his or her picture taken.

Capturing family life

What’s different:

Our style of photography is relaxed and fun, capturing your family life (children) in their natural environment and at play. This gives you a snapshot of life and can be turned into gifts for the relatives, which you and they, will treasure for a lifetime.

 

For Your Session:

 

You have plenty of time on your session.  We can take as many breaks as your kids need to keep everyone happy and comfortable.  Your session is held in your home and/or at the location of your choice.  I love capturing your kids in their natural environment but if you prefer a simple studio setting that is also no problem.

 

What to wear:

 

Clothing choices are a very important to getting those portraits that you love.  Avoid large logos, bright colours (especially Red), Stripes and prints.  Beautiful simple sundresses are always lovely for little girls. If more than one subject is being photographed, please dress them in coordinating outfits / colours.

 

What do you receive?

 

After the images have been taken (over 100 are usually taken) you will receive a proof disk of low-resolution images for you to select from to make your package. Once the package is complete you will also receive all images on a high-resolution master disk for you to keep for personal archives and printing.

 

And the price?

 

The session fee price is $350 and includes unlimited images, up to 2 hours of photography, a 12x18 canvas print and 20 proof 6x4 prints. Further options for purchase include a professional Storybook in hard cover including photos (from $100), enlargements (including canvas) and montages. A slideshow set to music and written as either a DVD or high-resolution computer file $50.

Collages: A collage is a custom made photograph containing 9 or more prints cropped together in a square format to make one final print. Also available are more random collages made from unlimited number of photographs you select and is then printed to a size of your choice. These custom photographs start from as little as $10 for a 6” x 8” print.

I'm on the lookout for new models for portfolio and competition work.

All of modelling work is done TFP (Time for Photos/Prints), meaning you will receive some prints or some digitial images in exchange for your modelling time. You do not get paid or have to pay for this.
